Cock'O the West Regatta - Strahan

*** Please note - No sailing at Lauderdale yacht Club this weekend ***

The 2024 Cock of the West Regatta is being held at Macquarie Harbour Sailing Club in Strahan over the 8-hour-Day long weekend.

Run by Leven Yacht Club, all are welcome to attend, with racing on Saturday 9/3/2024, Sunday 10/3/2024, & possibly Monday 11/3/2024 (to confirm with Leven Yacht Club. Normally racing concludes on the Sunday, as it has in prior years).

The course is very challenging with large starts & timing limit given that all boats must race to. It is a handicap event which means literally anyone can win, no matter the boat. The Lauderdale F18 crews have been luckly with the breeze 2 out of the last 3 years were they had managed to come away with 1st & 2nd overall.

Great times had the last three years by the F18 & A-Class boats from LYC in attendance. Everyone has a blast!!


Warning, the drive is long (allow 5-5.5 hours). Advice of the F18 sailors is to leave on Friday morning, if possible or Friday evening. It is the perfect opportunity to take a couple of extra days off work to visit the sites & sounds of the mighty West Coast.
